Before you start
Prior to filling out this form we ask that all applicants read the Licensing Boat Operator Conditions on our Licensing web page (opens a new window).
When completing this application form you will need to upload the following documentary evidence:
- Proof of date of birth - passport, driving licence or birth certificate
- Relevant certificate signed by a medical practitioner as to your fitness to carry out the duties of a Full Boat Operator (only required for applicants aged 65 or over)
- A recent photograph of the applicant
Licence fee
Licences run from 1st April to 31st May. For new applications made part way through the year, the fee will be calculated on a pro rata basis.
- 1 year licence fee - £98
- 6 years licence fee - £260
Payment of the licence fee to be made on completion of this application.
Licence start date
To allow us time to process your application and issue the licence, please select a date at least 2 weeks from today. That start date should be no more than 6 months in advance. For licences starting part way through a month, the fee will be payable for the whole of that month.
